Eligibility Requirements: Open to 6th grade students
Sponsor: Mrs. Lipp
Description: Students participate in collecting donations for charity, giving tours of the school, hosting school events, and assisting with Midland Academy events.
Meeting Days/Times: Monthly, during school hours
Junior Civitan
Eligibility Requirements: Open to all 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students who are interested in becoming "Builders of Good Citizanship" in their home, school, community, and nation.
Sponsors: Mrs. Seegar & Mrs. Bray
Description: The purpose of Junior Civitan is to develop initiative and leadership, and to encourage young people to live a fuller life enriched by selfless service to others, with a focus on the Golden Rule in all relationships by precept and example.
Meeting Days/Times: Every Wednesday from 3:45-4:30
Peer Helpers
Eligibility Requirements: Open to 7th and 8th grade students
Sponsor: Mrs. Fry and Mrs. Lipp
Description: This is a student leadership group that helps other students by setting a good example to follow. They attend a two day training conference during school hours. They make new students feel welcome and confident as they learn their way around school. They also assist with peer tutoring, reading to elementary students, and assisting with activities for local nursing homes.
Meeting Days/Times: After school, dates TBA
Student Council
Eligibility Requirements: Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Members are elected by their classmates. The executive committee is selected from the classroom representatives.
Sponsor: Mrs. Tanner
Description: Student Council plans and organizes events for students. Students may lead committees, participate in fund raisers, work with teams to generate ideas and organize events for the school, and share responsibility for running activities throughout the school.
Meeting Days/Times: After school, TBA
Velocity
Eligibility Requirements: Open to 7th and 8th grade students who are committed to being positive role models for their peer and are willing to remain totally drug free. Students must attend a Saturday workshop/training day.
Sponsor: Mrs. Harvey
Description: Velocity is the middle school version of the high school Teen Advisors. Their mission is to provide drug free middle school students an opportunity to reach out to their peers and support each other in making positive, healthy decisions. Students must apply for membership and
